Daeshawn’s Background:
Daeshawn Gray is a youth engagement specialist (Y.E.S.), certified trauma-informed care educator, and former youth director at the highest level. He is passionate about empowering young people and equipping the adults who support them. Daeshawn helps bridge gaps in communication, leadership, and relationship-building, all essential areas for meaningful engagement and transformation. He has partnered with schools, community organizations, and corporate teams to enhance connection and impact. His goal is to help groups effectively reach their audiences and deliver the change their communities deserve. Servant leadership is where it all begins.
Daeshawn’s Story:
Daeshawn’s early life was filled with challenges including abandonment, adoption, abuse, and a misdiagnosis of ADHD that led to medication and placement in isolated “special classes”. These circumstances limited his social development and led to a troubled school journey including multiple suspensions, expulsions, and a year on probation. He was dangerously close to becoming a statistic in the school-to-prison pipeline. Everything changed after a chance encounter at a public library sparked a mindset shift. With the support of his parents and mentors, Daeshawn began to excel, earning honor roll, graduating from college, and committing to his personal growth. He credits his transformation to prayer, a shift in his internal culture, and the power of meaningful connections. His journey has equipped him with insight and perspective to help others thrive.
